Gaza Blockade

Israeli government says that it is justified under the international law to apply a blockade on enemy's nation for security reasons.Israel has provided number of reasons for it's policy and even United Nations commission has said that Israel's security blockade is legal and suitable according to the situation.There was land,sea and air blockade on Gaza.

In 2007 a law was imposed on Gaza banning the import and export all over Gaza completely due to which 95% of operations of industries were suspended.At the end of 2007 there were only 195 factories whereas before the law in 2005 there were 3,900 factories.Out of 35,000 people employed to factories only 1,750 people remained employed to the 195 factories which remained.And then in result unemployment in Gaza increased from 40% to 80% by 2010.

In the month of January Israel calculated that how many calories were needed to humanitarian crisis in Gaza and subtracted 8% to adjust for culture and experience of Gazans.In February 2008 government of Israel reduced the electricity which it sells directly to Gaza.It follows the ruling of the High Court of Israel of Justice's decision which was held with respect to the amount of fuel supplied to Gaza.It also states that the amount supplied is sufficient to meet the important and vital humanitarian needs in Gaza.The court was convinced that the reduction will not violate the humanitarian obligations imposed on state.

In 2010, 20 June security cabinet of Israel approved a new system governing the blockade that will allow all items to enter Gaza.According to it Israel will expand the transfer of construction materials for different projects which included schools,health and water. 

In April 2013 Turkey's Prime Minister visited Gaza and said that there will be three conditions between Turkey and Israel to resume friendly relations,first was that an explanation for surprise attack on Gaza by Israel second was awarding of compensation to families which were affected by the attack and last was the lifting of the blockade from Gaza.He said that we will monitor the situation to see if promises are kept or not at same time he affirmed that Israel will only consider exploring the removal of Gaza blockade if peace is achieved in area.At the end a message.
