Iraq Crisis

For almost then ten years Iraq was under the rule of Saddam Hussein. After a war with Iran in 1980s the economy of Iraq faced many problems.Relations with neighbor Kuwait became worse and eventually it led to invasion by Iraq in 1991 in August.
After the Persian Gulf war by US to remove Saddam Hussien's forces from Kuwait, the UN imposed sanctions on Iraq.US and UK enforced it fully even when other nations wanted them lifted for sanctions strengthened Saddam's government and hurt the people of Iraq.
In 2001 eleven terrorists attack on US saw a US War on Terror and George Bush tried to link Saddam Hussein to Osama bin Laden and Al Qaeda and said that they were responsible for the attacks but it was never proved because they both were always opposed in ideology.Despite US continued to raise reasons that why Iraq should be targeted.
In 2003 US and UK invasion of Iraq was criticized to be on false claims(that Iraq had weapons of mass destruction ready for deployment within minutes and placed a big threat to world)without the support of international community and even with large domestic opposition to war in both those countries.Since the bombing operation ended Saddam Hussein was overthrown, expected fast democracy, peace and gratitude to US quickly became a disaster and nightmare because major religious and ethnic factions started to fight with each other and US/UK occupation forces.Civilian death toll has been without limits and in 2006 there were almost 100 deaths a day.
President Obama celebrated of withdrawing all US troops from Iraqi and Afghan territory as the way war ends in 21st century but with a handover to a competent governing authority.
UN says there were more than thousand deaths in Iraq in June.
