Kashmir Dispute

Kashmir is a 86,000 mile region which was divided into two parts one under Pakistan and one under India.Kashmir a most beautiful place on earth has become a disputed territory.Kashmir problem was started in 1947 during the partition when the British divided British India between the Muslims and non Muslims.Partition done by British was unfair. It was decided that Muslim majority areas will be given to Muslims and Hindu majority to Hindus but Kashmir was a Muslim majority area.It is an ongoing territorial dispute between Pakistan and India.Kashmir was a part of old princely state ruled by Maharajah Hari Singh till October 1947.Currently Kashmir is divided is divided into three parts.India has 45% Pakistan has 35% and third is China which has 20%.Kashmir's population is almost 9 million from which 6 million are Muslims and remaining are Hindus and Buddhists.
Pakistan Army and Pathans in October 1948 invaded the state and occupied much area. Then later Indian Governor General Lord Mountbatten send the army in Kashmir, army was given orders not to attack Pakistan but just to defend the non occupied areas, this all happened before the partition of Kashmir. In 1948 UN Resolution asked Pakistan to leave the areas it has captured so that India can arrange a union for it.Pakistan did'not accepted the Resolution and at the same time to win support of China Pakistan gifted 4853 sq km area of Kashmir to China which is almost 20% of the area thus changing the demographic pattern, and now UN could not impose law on Pakistan and it would be impossible for UN to make China leave the area.

Now in present Pakistan's Prime Minister  Nawaz Sharif said that he had a dream of  seeing the Indian Kashmir free and wished to see it in his lifetime.Kashmir is a point that can trigger war between Pakistan and India two nuclear powers.

Fact:Kashmir,it's population want to be the part of Pakistan but India don't want this to happen because Kashmir has the control of great rivers which flows in Pakistan and India.

India's Prime Minister Modi said  that Kashmir part under India has a special status under Article 370 of the Indian Constitution. He said that his demand is of removal of special status of Kashmir and bring the state on par with other states of Indian union.
